When you are not at the office you can often be found doing what? In the dead of winter, I love hiking the local sections of the Appalachian Trail. A solo hike with mile after mile of a frozen mountain stream in a pristine snowfall is sublime. The only company? Little blue Junco snowbirds.
For what in life do you feel most grateful? I feel most grateful to have been blessed with the best mother and father for which anyone could possibly ask.
What is something others may be surprised to learn about you? I enjoy writing fiction and oil painting.

Shannon (Chip) joined Acorn Financial Advisory Services in 2018 to serve his clients in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia from his office in Harrisonburg, VA. Previously he worked as an independent financial advisor at Regent Financial Wealth Management LLC. Before that, he was an Investment Advisor Representative with Thrivent Financial.
Chip holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business with a major in Economics from Virginia Tech. He also holds a Series 7 registration, a Series 66 Registration, a Virginia insurance license, and is registered with The Strategic Financial Alliance, Inc.
Prior to a career in financial services, he was an industrial and distribution engineer in the apparel industry.
Chip enjoys reading, writing, and hiking in the Virginia mountains. He resides with his wife Kathy in New Market, VA.
